#FLOSFRIDAY - Celebrating 35 years with the Former Ladies of The Supremes!
On Friday's we look back at the 35 year history and legacy of The Former Ladies of The Supremes, we call it #FLOSFRIDAY
Today we are looking back to June of 1998 with The Former Ladies of The Supremes' Scherrie Payne & Lynda Laurence with Freddi Poole. #KeepTheMusicPlaying
"In June of this year, we boarded the Holland America Ms. Veendam for a week-long cruise to Jamaica. The ship was voted the 1998 Ship of the Year! It was truly elegant! Everything was First Class. We had very spacious and lavishly decorated suites, with large balconies. The views were spectacular. We picked up the cruise in the Cayman Islands. Then we sailed from there to Ocho Rios, Jamaica.
"We then sailed on to a magnificent privately owned island (owned by Holland America) called Half Moon Key. The sand was so white you had to wear shades. It was smooth as silk. I’ve never seen anything like it, it was awesome. This was a private cruise. All of the people on board were from the UK, and boy did they love to party! Because it was private, the ship was not full, so it was never crowded, except in the many dining areas. I believe there were 12 decks."
"We had fresh flowers every day and of course the ship was spotless. The food, the company and the crew were all quite exquisite. Our show went so well. The room we performed in was fabulous! The capacity was about 500 or more people. It was a Black Tie evening and we had 5 standing ovations! They really loved us. We had a full band with horns. At the end of the show, we came back out with the other performers and sang one of my favorite songs, “We Are the Champions.” I loved every minute of it!"
All in all, it was a fabulous, fun cruise!
